She is moored at Haslar Marina in Gosport. Should you wish to commence your charter from an alternate port please feel free to ask BYC.

 

Who will skipper the yacht?2021-03-25T19:41:19+00:00

All BYC yacht charters will be skippered by at least one RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Offshore commercially endorsed.

What is included in the standard day charter fee?2021-03-25T19:40:48+00:00
  • Professional skipper
  • Asymmetric sail
  • Mooring fees are negotiable depending on rate paid
  • Diesel fuel – ‘Butterfly’ is provided with a full tank of fuel and usage will be determined at the end of the charter
  • Cooking gas
  • Dinghy, outboard and outboard fuel
  • Cooking equipment, utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, and cutlery

  • Completed charter agreement – signed
  • Terms and conditions – signed
  • Crew list and sailing certificates (if any)
  • Passports and driving licence
  • Appropriate warm clothing – pure woollen products are excellent
  • Wet weather gear and boots
  • No skid/non marking footwear – no heels
  • Bedding – sleeping bag and pillow (if overnight charter)
  • Towels

In the event of an adverse weather forecast being issued by the Met Office for the duration of the proposed charter, ‘Butterfly’ will not commence the charter and an alternative date must be arranged within 6 months. Once a charter has commenced no refunds will given or compensation arranged in the event of bad weather.

Do I have to place a security deposit with BYC?2021-03-25T19:38:56+00:00

A Security Deposit must be paid to BYC prior to commencement of your charter unless specifically waived by BYC. Generally a Security Deposit for a Standard Day Charter will be waived.

A standard day charter will be from approximately 9.00am to 5.00pm.

 

What safety equipment comes as standard?2021-03-25T19:36:18+00:00

Your safety is our priority. Comprehensive safety and navigational equipment is standard. ‘Butterfly’ is comprehensively coded to Maritime and Coastguard Agency Category 2 (MCA cat 2 – 60 nautical miles from a safe haven). Radar, chart plotter, auto pilot, lifejackets, life raft and of course a top of the range McMurdo EPIRB. Comprehensive first aid kits are onboard. Children’s lifejackets may be available on request.

‘Butterfly’ is a new yacht and design owned and operated by Butterfly Yacht Charters Ltd (BYC). She is a Jeanneau 49’ deck saloon, with three double cabins, a large cockpit, and extensive room down below. She is equipped with a racing sail kit for high performance, but has all the amenities and luxuries you could wish for.
